About

Welcome to Sassy Pups Professional Dog Training, where we believe every canine is a superstar! We are female owned certified professional dog trainers (CPDT-KA) and awe’re on a mission to transform your furry friends into the well-behaved companions you’ve always dreamed of.

Sassy Pups was founded in 2024 by Sarah Plyler and Brandi Whitemyer, two friends and both CPDT-KA dog trainers with a passion for pups of all kinds! In their years of experience working with dogs, Sarah and Brandi have honed their skills in training dogs from all walks of life, from puppies to working dogs. Their combined expertise includes extensive work with rescue and shelter pets, canine behavior modification, herding and working drive canine development, canine home safety management, socialization skills, pack integration and more. Their unique approach combines a 1:1 assessment of the needs of every unique and individual dog, environmental canine assessment, pack dynamics assessment, with personally developed training focused on non-aversive positive reinforcement, expertly backed techniques, and a whole lot of tail-wagging fun. Whether your pup is a rambunctious puppy or a seasoned senior, we are here to unlock their inner sassiness and make your life a whole lot easier.

Sarah Plyler, CPDT-KA and her husband, Casey, are also dedicated foster dog parents, having opened their home to over 200 dogs, providing them with a safe and supportive environment while they wait for their forever families.

With a unique blend of passion, experience, and dedication, Sarah continues to make a positive impact on both the dogs she trains and the families she helps.

Brandi Whitemyer, CPDT-KA, is a certified professional dog trainer with years of experience helping high-energy and high-drive dog breeds reach their full potential. From puppies to seniors, she specializes in creating personalized training plans focused on socialization, behavior modification, drive redirection, and basic canine skills.

In addition to her dog training work, Brandi has 25 years of experience as a registered nurse in community health care. This background allows her to take a holistic approach to working with dogs and their families, considering the unique needs of each individual canine and their owner(s).

When Brandi is not training dogs, she is on her small farm, raising heritage ducks and geese, and enjoying time with my dogs. Her pack of 7 dogs—including 5 Australian Cattle Dogs and 2 Miniature Pinscher/Pit mixes—all work on her farm.
